Giving Thanks to Pastor Martin & Nancy

April 15, 2025

Dear FPC Starkville family and friends,

As most of you know, April 27 will be the final Sunday for Dr. Martin Lifer at FPC after serving our congregation for over 11 years. His dedication and love for our church family and the greater Starkville/MSU community are unquestionable. Alongside his wife Nancy, Martin has provided outstanding leadership, pastoral guidance, and well-thought-out counsel through some challenging times in the life of our church, all the while maintaining his devotion to the greater witness of the gospel in all endeavors.

While we’ll miss Martin and Nancy after their upcoming move to Kansas, we rejoice in their call. God certainly has plans for them, as He does for us.

To celebrate the close of the Lifers’ time in Starkville, please make note of the following:

1) The worship service on Sunday, April 27, will be at 10:30 a.m. only to have a special recognition of our graduating high school seniors. This special service will also feature Martin’s final sermon as our senior pastor.

2) FPC will host a come-and-go reception on Sunday, April 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Please bring cards if you like—a special gift box will be on hand to deposit them. Also, make sure to sign the registry for Martin and Nancy as a keepsake.

3) Over the next few days, a love offering will be received to be presented at the reception. Please contribute to Haley or Cheryl at the church office before Thursday, April 24. Mark your check/envelope as “Lifers’ love offering”. We know the family of FPC Starkville will enjoy a great day of worship and meaningful fellowship, along with our beloved pastor Martin and his wife Nancy, on their final Sunday in Starkville.

Blessings,

FPC Leadership
